KROSS COLLECTIVE presents: CONVERGENCE V, an evening of immersive performances exploring dialogues between sound, text, and visuals.

The closing event of the 2024 series CONVERGENCE will be a celebration of an unique blend of mediums- including a musical performance by Alexandra Gruebler and an experimental collaborative piece by the core Kross Collective members.

We would like to point out that the lift in the building is unfortunately not working at the moment. For this reason, access is currently restricted. We would like to apologise for this.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the event, otherwise your seats may be released if there is a large crowd.

Alexandra Gruebler is a Berlin-based composer, producer, musician and vocalist, working at the intersection of music, poetics and performance, primarily through the solo project Baal & Mortimer.

Daniel Bryden is an experimental musician and video artist from Newcastle upon Tyne, currently based in Berlin. He releases music as Days Like Television.

Using an array of dissociated sound sources and fragmented synths, Bryden’s work delicately balance a viscerally intense heaviness with a melodic and nostalgic beauty.

His debut album- ‘This Will Have Been the Past’ (released 05 / 06 / 24 on Bonambi) acts as the culmination of 10 years of experiments within the noise, improvised, and electronic music scene. These include live AV performances at such venues as ICA (London), La Vallée (Brussels), ACUD MACHT NEU (Berlin), and VEKKS (Vienna).

His mother nurtured him with abundant love, while his father repaired cars. Growing up as the eldest of four brothers in a tiny flat in Wedding, Berlin, shared with two dogs and a free-flying bird, Mada learned the values of resilience and responsibility. Now, he runs a recording studio in Lichtenberg while studying the obscure reality in which we live in while being a busdriver.

Michael Berentsen is an American-born, Berlin-based freelance media artist, composer, and technician with a Master's degree in sound from the Universität der Künste Berlin. Since 2005, He has professionally navigated the realms of composition and media artistry, continually striving in collaborative and solo endeavors. His work spans various mediums, from coding and sound manipulation to visual artistry, reflecting a commitment to exploring the intersection of emotion and technology.

Driven by a passion for both the auditory and visual realms, he crafts immersive experiences that challenge perceptions and evoke profound emotional responses.

Mire is the dark-ambient drone and atmospheric soundscape project of Andreea Hriscu, a multidisciplinary Berlin based artist. She is active as an expressive painter, photographer, performer and sound artist. Her sound project Mire has 6 releases on Bandcamp consisting of sound collages, sound-poetry, dark ambient and drone sounds. Using mostly self recorded synths, modified samples and field recordings, Mire is an exploration of profound, meditative soundscapes that provoke a sense of introspection, throwing the listener into a darkening solitude, a deep claustrophobic dimension, submerged in perennial cyclic movements.

„von jeglichem wort“ is a sound- and text project. Last published: „von jeglichem wort das durch den mund den menschen vernewet“ (Gedichte, KLAK Verlag 2023), and the records (vinyl): „es gibt für den menschen keine innere leere mehr“ (2022), and „um außer uns im leeren nichts zu suchen“ (2024).
